Axia Taverna in Tenafly

This place has a beautiful ambiance - live music, ample space, comfortable seating and great waiters. The food was next level - cooked to perfection and authentic Greek flavors. The wine selection is very good and our waiter gave ideal recommendations. The upstairs is perfect for hosting larger events as well!! We will be back for sure

Excellent food. A bit pricey but the meals and service are definitely worth it. Grilled octopus and lamb chops extraordinary. Seafood mix yum!

It’s a Friday evening during the stressful days of Covid 19 and my parents and I wanted a decent meal. Wow did we make the right choice! Your food was superb and the team/staff/owner was gracious, kind and friendly. We will be back over and over and over again. Thank you!!

Great spot in NJ for families or even a date. My wife and I did not care for any of the appetizers, which made us very concerned for the rest of our evening. We got the zucchini chips, boar assuage and something else i forget. They were all mediocre.Our meal however was a different story, the Salmon was crust on the outside and medium rare on the inside. Super moist and the accompaniments complemented the dish well. My lamb in pastry was also delicious. Stuffed with tender slow braised lamb on the inside, and a couple pieces of quick seared lamb on the outside. The bar is nice. You are given some cheese and olives with your drinks. The bartender was very knowledgeable on cocktails and they have a very large selection of various spirits (bourbon, scotch, grapa, etc...)

I have been to Axia atleast 10 times the menu items are consistently good and there are always specials. The flaming cheese, shrimp and lamb meatball appetizers are great. Good atmosphere and large wine selection.Highly recommend this restaurant.

We went with our friends to have an outdoor dinner. The ambiance was really nice at the start. They have a really large outdoor tented dining space. After about 10 min, they had a live band start playing. The music was so loud that we had to yell at each other the whole time, and still struggled to hear each other. We kindly asked the owner (or maybe it was the manager) if he could turn down the volume so we could hear ourselves speaking, and he very rudely said no. The food was good, but we felt like we were at a dive bar, not an expensive dinner.

My husband and I just celebrated my birthday here. I had the best meal. I'm not versed in Greek so. The cheese flambed with metaxa Fantastic. The grape leaves OMG. Both small plates. The octupus appetizer to die for. He got the sardines, no.accounting for someone's taste. He said they were fantastic. I had the shrimp and stuffed mussels. Finished it. Only left the mussel shells and shrimp tails. Bob had the lamb. Dessert : recommend the baclava ice cream sandwich. Delicious. The wine list is extensive. Stick to the Greek wines for the fantastic tastes. Do not shy away from Retsina. There is only a hint of pine. Can not say enough about this place.

Maybe the best restaurant in northern New Jersey. Great dishes, prompt service, very accommodating. Have been four times. There's a train this place is packed packed packed. It's good and fun.

Always good. We try to come here about once per month. The octopus is among the best prepared octopus we've had. There are other outstanding dishes as well. Service for us has always been good.

It's a very cozy Greek restaurant. The food is reasonably priced for being an upscale restaurant. This was my friends favorite restaurant. Myself and couple friends go every year in memory of him.

I’ve been to Axia and I absolutely love it. My new favorite Greek restaurant. The food is fantastic, service excellent, beautiful ambiance, my heart is happy everytime I go there!! The owner always comes by our table to talk. Sweet man.

Great place, the food is delicious great place for nice dinners or even celebrating. Can get a little expensive. I recommend their special watermelon tomatoes feta salad!

It's a sad over-priced place. Greek food for Suburban palates. The Octopus has the texture of shoelace. Fish specials (Dorado, Red Snapper, Bronzino) will always be the same...and tasteless. Pastitsio and Moussaka taste like Stouffer's. God help you if you are not a regular...you will be buried in an empty restaurant. Don't worry...you won't be a regular.

Wine collection is good no doubt about that..But food took way longer than expected to bring even the appetizer on table then main course took as usual even more longer 🙄 (Note: Decide menu at home and once you reach just place the order directly)We prefer well cooked meat but they just burnt (black portions) it say it the octopus appetizer or the Salmon & lamb chunk main course 😑HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT !!!Also no complementary birthday dessert (even Olive Garden gives it), I mean I didn't want a huge cake or something but even a tiny one would have been nice to make one happy especially for someone who came just to celebrate birthday (mentioned in special request while reserving a table).I never write so long but your service compelled me to write this long.Talking about Greek food we've had in NY they're far better in service than you guys !!

I made reservations to Axia Taverna and was excited to check them out. We arrived on time and were seated in an area that was not covered from the rain. We asked to be moved to the main tent. The waitress went to ask the manager, Tim, if we can move. He came over and told us we cannot move as this space is saved for people that made reservations. We explained that we also made reservations and he blasted at us. He told us that we can leave, if we want. Instead of trying to work out a solution, he literally screamed at us! We obviously left the place and went enjoy a great dinner @ Zula in Englewood.

Wow! All I can say is wow. Beautiful restaurant, great staff and food Is delicious!

Wonderful and upscale Greek food restaurant

This place is awesome! Good prices, considerable portions and the employees are always nice.

Excellent Greek cooking with a good creative touch! Nothing we ordered was ordinary or the usual. The fish is always so fresh; however, I did find the spinach side dish a bit too salty so I would recommend telling the server that you want light on the salt when ordering.

I had my real estate spring market seminar for first-time home buyers at this place. One of the partners/owners, Tim, was a wonderful guy and extremely helpful! All my guests were very well treated and my seminar was well done. Of course, the food was excellent! Highly recommend this venue.

Fabulous great Greek food

Dinner is always perfectly executed here. The soft shell crabs were beyond belief. I highly recommend it.
